Sri Lanka travel guide videos

Sri Lanka is one of the amazing and diverse islands in the Gulf of Bengal and South East of India. The variety of cultural cities and places, the stunning breathtaking landscapes and scenery and the gorgeous beaches makes the island a true backpack and travel country. Check the 3 part travel guide below.

Part 1 – Colombo, Galle and the Southern beaches.

In this video I take you to the vibrant capital with different cultural highlights and amazing food. From the capital you can take the local bus to Galle. A historic town founded by the Dutch centuries ago. Traveling by bus is very easy and is the best way to travel around the entire country. After Galle I went to Unawatuna and the rest of the Southern beaches. An amazing place to hang out and enjoy the sun or do some activities like snorkeling, diving and surfing.

Part 2 – The Central Highlands – Ella, scenic train ride from Ella to Kandy and Kandy

The Central highlands is totally different from the southern beaches. Hill country is breathtaking with lush green hills and mountains and amazing scenery in the middle of the tea plantations, tiny villages and natural highlights by climing Ella’s peak and Little adams peak. But the main highlight is the scenic train ride from Ella to Kandy it supposed to be one of the beautiful train rides in Sri Lanka.

Part 3 – the cultural triangle. Dambulla, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura.

Just north of the Central Highlands there is the most important region of Sri Lanka culture. This part is the true heart of Sri Lanka. The cultural triangle is the most religious, cultural, historical and ancient hotspot for the Buddhist believers in Sri Lanka. The places Dambulla, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura is a must visit if you want to understand what Sri Lanka is. I ended my Sri Lanka trip at the beaches of Negombo.
