A brief summary about my last trip in Indonesia, my country of birth. A trip brought me several places on the Islands of Sumatra and Java. This video is a summary – coming up next is how to travel and tips & tricks about Sumatra.
Sumatra
We flew from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia to Medan the capita of Sumatra. We spend several days in Medan and traveled to Bukit Lawang and saw the Urang Utangs in Gunung Leuser national park. From Bukit Lawang we drove to Beragstagi and saw the (in)famous vulcano’s: mount Sinabung and mount Sibayak. Sinabung is still active regularly (when we left Indonesia the vulcano erupt again). From Berastagi we went to Lake Toba and Samosir island back to Medan.
Java
Java is totally different from Sumatra. More people, more cities and different cultures on one island. From Jakarta we went by bus to Bandung. From Bandung we went by train to the ancient city of Yogyakarta and visited the important temples of Borobudur and Prembanan. From Yogya we went by bus to Solo and Kediri to Malang and from there our final destinations Madura Island and Surabaya.
It is not only visit the country to explore and discover my roots. But also discover the different cultures, friendly people and the nature with its biodiversity.
