In this episode I take you to South America the Andes region of the countries: Peru, Bolivia and North Chile. A journey what took me to the Andes, Ancient temples, salt flats and driest place on earth. This was a part of my 2015 round the world trip
Peru
Traveling from Lima, Paracas, Huacachina, Ica the famous deserts of Peru. Then I went through the Colca Canyon to the other side in the Andes Mountains to Cuzco to see the famous Machu Picchu by an 5-day trekking over the Salkantay pass.
Bolivia
After Peru I went via Puno and lake Titicaca and crossed the border with Bolivia. First we went to Copacabana and Isla del Sol. In the evening we went to on 3000 meters to La Paz. Because of the strikes I couldn’t go to Sucre and Potosi. So I visited several historic sights and did the famous mountainbike downhill from La Paz to Coroico aka the Death Road. From La Paz I went to Chile but first passing the famous salt flats: Salar the Uyuni.
Chile
From Salar the Uyuni in Bolivia I crossed the border after 3 days. This is a very known route from Uyuni to San Pedro de Atacama. As the name says San Pedro is in the Atacama desert one of the driest places on the earth. You can visit with you mountainbike the dramatic rock formation in Valle de la Luna and Valle de la Muerte. A week in Chile I went straight to Argentina to the place of Salta.

this is just a piece of it. More travels following in the future to visit the rest of the South American continent.
Awesome! Planning to travel next year. Questions: What’s the Best month to visit Peru and Bolivia? what month did you travel?
Hi Api,
The best to travel is a bit before summer. So around August September (and beginning of October) it is also the dry season. It is not that cold and hot neither you got rain 🙂
