Salar de Uyuni Bolivia

Bolivia – Salar de Uyuni and Eduardo Avaroa National Park photo series

Manage myself to the south

Because of the strikes I couldn’t go to Sucre and Potosi. So I stay a few days longer in the city and manage my self to the south to the famous Salar de Uyuni. I didn’t know what I would face would be one of my highlights in Bolivia.

Salar de Uyuni

When I traveled to Uyuni in a night bus it was a comfortable one instead of those horror stories of no toilets bad comfort in the busses etcetera. Actually it was a smooth ride and I end up early in the morning on the salt flats aka Salar de Uyuni. The bus drove straight to Uyuni. Because I had time enough I spend one day longer in Uyuni to see how the daily life is and make photos.

Uyuni to San Pedro de Atacama

The most common journey is traveling from Uyuni in Bolivia to San Pedro de Atacama in Chile through – Salar de Uyuni – the Salt flats. I would take 3 days and 2 nights. You not only visit (and having fun) on the salt flats and sleep in the salt hostel. But you also visit the Eduardo Avaroa National Park. A great park with rock formations, red lakes and local wild life. The salt flats are amazing never saw that in my life such an empty but interesting place.
